As fellow travellers can probably relate, I’m always thinking about what’s next. If any of you have ever been to any of the following places please connect with me! I would love to chat.
Here’s what’s on my radar for 2019:
- ALASKA. I have wanted to go to Alaska since before I can remember.
- TOFINO, CANADA. This is one that feels so close yet so far! I’m still kicking myself for not making the trip out to Tofino when I was living out West. I regret that majorly. I’m dying to eat at Tacofino (check it out guys), sleep in a log cabin by the beach, go whale watching and search for the legendary spirit bears of the west coast. They say that Tofino is the end of the earth. My parents recently got back from a trip to Tofino and their photos look incredible. This will be a pricy trip as accommodation is astronomically high, but equally high on the bucket list.
- THE PHILIPPINES: The Philippines has been getting a lot of buzz lately and I’m hoping to visit before it gets too overrun by tourism. El Nido, Palawan looks like something I couldn’t even dream up in my head.
- MOAB, UTAH. I’ve always been fascinated by canyons, desert and red rock. I spent 4 days in the desert in Arizona last year and I was in awe. I’m dying to see Arches National Park in Utah.
- AUSTRALIA. I got a small taste of Australia a few months ago and holy cow it left me speechless. I do have a confession-I always thought that Australia was overrated! Boy was I wrong. Sadly I only spent 10 days in the beautiful country but can’t wait to come back and see the Great Barrier Reef, Whitsunday Islands, the Outback and Fitzroy Island. Australia should be on every Canadians bucket list for their climate alone. I was there during their “winter” (I say that in quotations because most Canadians would laugh), and still ended up with a sunburn every day.
- JAPAN. Temples, cherry blossoms, bamboo trees in Kyoto, Snow Monkeys, traditional teahouses, sublime gardens and rooftop bars. Do I need to say more? For those who know me this may be a surprising pick because I struggle with crowds, so Japan may be a challenge for me. Just thinking about the Shibuya street crossing in Tokyo (the busiest intersection in the world) gets my heart racing a little.
